What Pryva does

Reduces some fingerprinting signals without pretending to make you anonymous.
Can warn you about third-party connections and other suspicious activity instead of hiding it from you.
Can block selected adult and unsafe categories with a local Pryva block page.

How it works

Third-party tracking: A website can load advertising, analytics, social-media, attribution, or other services that also appear on unrelated websites. Pryva aims to make those connections harder to reuse as one identity across the web.
Tracker notifications: Pryva can flag third-party connections from services such as Meta or Google Analytics. A detection means Pryva saw the connection or request. It does not mean Pryva can prove exactly what data the third party received.
Identity Shield: Pryva can reduce or normalize some browser-visible information used for fingerprinting. It does not change your real IP address and it is not a VPN.
Risk Monitor: Pryva can watch locally for things such as suspicious redirects, downloads, tracking connections, and known tracking or lookup services. It is not a guarantee against every form of malware.
Session cleanup: Temporary third-party tracking state can be cleared when a browser session ends, while useful first-party login sessions can remain available.
Local-first: Core privacy work is designed to happen on your device rather than sending your normal browsing history to a Pryva server. Normal websites, browser updates, extension updates, and other internet activity still communicate with services as expected.
What Pryva cannot do: Pryva cannot guarantee complete anonymity, hide your IP address, or stop every possible tracking technique. The goal is practical privacy, not impossible promises.

When something cannot be verified, the site and extension should say so. Real activity should be shown as real activity.
Pryva is developed with AI assistance and reviewed, managed, and overseen by real people. The goal is to keep the core product free without putting basic privacy behind a paywall.
Firefox is the main release for now. It will stay there while we test, fix bugs, and make sure everything runs smoothly. Chrome is planned later, and plans may change.
What is planned?
A Discord server is planned for support, bug reports, and suggestions such as requesting a site to be blocked. It is not open yet, and plans may change as Pryva grows.
